Yung Pueblo's essential wisdom for better relationships

Fueling today’s newsletter 🎧: Chai & Sunshine

I know it's been a minute since our last newsletter — a whole month, to be exact! That's not our usual style but the past few weeks have been a whirlwind of travel, attending transformative experiences, and focusing on evolving rooh to better serve you. While the silence wasn't my first choice, the insights gained during this time will directly benefit our community.

I'm thrilled to return with some exciting news: today, March 11th, marks the release of Yung Pueblo's new book, "How to Love Better"! This feels like the perfect way to get back into your weekly rotation — by celebrating work that aligns so beautifully with rooh's mission of fostering personal growth and well-being.

With gratitude for your patience and continued support,

Anusha

"When chaos is all around you, the wisest choice is to create peace within you."

- Yung Pueblo

You may know of Yung Pueblo as he frequently shares his writings through social media and speaks highly of Vipassana meditation practices, but I found Yung Pueblo’s first book when I needed it most in 2017. ‘Inward’’ taught me about the need to continuously pursue  the art of letting go, a concept that has gotten easier with practice.

Yung Pueblo (Diego Perez) is most notable for his simple yet profound reflections on healing and transformation. His new book, "How to Love Better," explores how our personal healing journey directly influences our relationships with others. What makes his approach special is his understanding that the quality of our connections with others mirrors our relationship with ourselves.

Try this simple practice inspired by Yung Pueblo's work - The 60-Second Release

  1. Set a timer for 60 seconds

  2. Close your eyes and bring to mind something you've been holding onto — a grudge, expectation, or disappointment

  3. Visualize this as a physical object in your hands

  4. Take three slow, deep breaths

  5. On the final exhale, imagine opening your hands and releasing this burden

  6. Say to yourself: "I choose peace over attachment to this outcome"

The intention of this practice is to let go and create space for new possibilities in your life. It works because of its simplicity— just one minute can shift your entire emotional state.

Apart from ordering Yung Pueblo’s new book (which you can do here), take your next step by thinking about your relationships. Think of one relationship that feels any kind of complicated or just isn’t sitting well with you, right now. Ask yourself: What am I bringing to this dynamic that I haven't acknowledged?
